Historically Base Elections have always had a much lower voter turnout in comparison to other elections/votes such as the National Officer elections or the Strike Authorization and Tentative Agreement votes. We must remember that our elected Base Presidents comprise the APFA Board of Directors, which is the primary decision making body for our workgroup! This is why we must take this election as seriously as the others. Since 2017, base elections in NYC have gone from roughly 1,000 votes cast to less than 700. In some instances our elected officials have been decided by less than 100 votes. This is not an accurate representation of NYC. Our base is home to roughly 3200 members and each vote counts. We would like this election to break voting records. We can no longer afford to be complacent. So with that, we challenge you to simply vote. Even if it is not for our campaign, we respect you as our coworker and want your voice heard too!
